AAC (Advanced Audio Coding) is a standardized, lossy compression and encoding scheme for digital audio. AAC achieves better sound quality than MP3 at similar bit rates. Most AVI files use the file format extensions (ex. MP3 for audio). IMCapture for Skype converts the recorded file to AVI.
