Installation

 

1. Download IMCapture for Skype from www.imcapture.com 

2. Close Skype completely before the installation of IMCapture for Skype. 

3. Launch imcapture-for-skype.dmg. 

4. In appeared window run the installing file. 

5. Follow the directions. 

That's it, the installation of IMCapture for Skype is completed. 

Registration 

1. Launch IMCapture for Skype and click Help menu above the screen. 

2. From the drop-down list select Registration. 

3. Enter your registration name and key. For that purpose copy regname and regcode from email without blanks before and after reginfo. 

Initializing IMCapture for Skype 

After installation you must initialize the application with Skype approving IMCapture as a plug-in. This procedure will provide correct work of the program. 

To initialize IMCapture for Skype: 

1. Launch IMCapture for Skype application. 

2. The first time Skype is started after running IMCapture for Skype, the Skype API Security window appears. 

3. Select Allow this application to use Skype. Click Ok to approve your choice. 

If the Skype API Security window didn’t open for some risons, click on Skype menu in the top of the screen. From the drop-down list choose Manage API Clients and in appeared window select To add IMCapture for Skype. Click done button. 

4. After initializing IMCapture for Skype, either program may be started anytime, in any order. 

Recording Skype calls by default:

 

IMCapture for Skype allows you to record audio and video Skype sessions automatically with the start of the call. 

1. Click on IMCapture for Skype menu above and select Preferences. 

2. In opened Prefernces window check on Enable Autorecord chechkbox. 

3. Set an Output folder using the roll-button. 

4. Click OK to confirm your choice. 

IMCapture for Skype now will save Skype calls by default whenever it starts. 

To record an audio Skype call: 

Once you have finished initializing procedure you may record an audio call. To do this, launch IMCapture for Skype and complete the following steps: 

1. After an audio Skype call has started the Record audio button highlights, indicating that IMCapture for Skype recognizes that audio call is occurring and is ready to record it. 

2. Press record audio button to start recording any moment of the conversation. In Recording field will be displayed the record time. 

3. During the recording process the Stop button will be highlighted. Click this button when you would like to finish recording process. If you have checked Enable Autorecord checkbox in Preferences, the recording process stops automatically. 

4. IMCapture for Skype creates a new IMCapture for Skype file each time the Stop button is selected. 

To record a video Skype call: 

When you have initialized IMCapture for Skype on your Mac, you may record a video call. IMCapture for Skype enables you to launch and stop recording process anytime during the Skype video session. To record a video call, follow several steps: 

1. As soon as a video Skype session begins the Record video button becomes highlighted, pointing that IMCapture for Skype recognizes the occurring of a video call and is ready to record it. 

2. Click on Record video button anytime during the conversation to launch the recording process. 

3. The Stop button will be highlighted while the recording process is going on. If you have checked an Enable Autorecord checkbox, the record finishes automatically with the stop of a video session. 

Note: In case you select the flap of another contact the recording process stops automatically. The record further stops when you click on My video icon below the video display of Skype. 

4. IMCapture for Skype creates a new IMCapture for Skype file each time the Stop button is selected. 

Converting audio and video calls 

Using IMCapture for Skype you may not only record your Skype audio and video conversations, but convert them into one of the popular audio or video format as well. 

To convert recorded Skype audio or video call, do the following steps: 

1. As soon as your audio or video Skype call has been recorded, IMCapture for Skype Converter window will appear. 

2. The IMCapture for Skype Converter window displays two panels: one for you and one for the other caller, each supplied with Video and Audio check boxes. Select the components you would like to convert. 

3. To modify audio and video parameters click on Settings button. In opened Codec Parameters window you can adjust the settings choosing suitable characteristics. Click OK to confirm your selections. 

4. Press Convert button. In appeared window enter the name of a new recording in Save As field and set an output folder. While the conversion you may view the status of progress and its duration. 

5. When IMCapture for Skype has finished the converting process, the program will offer you to watch result file. To play it back click on Yes button.
