IMCapture for Skype User Tutorial

Installation

 

1.Download IMCapture for Skype: http://files.imcapture.com/imcapture-for-skype.dmg.

2.Before IMCapture for Skype installation you should close Skype completely. When IMCapture for Skype will be installed you can run Skype again.

3.Run the IMCapture for Skype.dmg file from the desktop, or download location.

4.In the IMCapture for Skype window, click and drag the IMCapture for Skype.app icon into the Applications folder icon.



That’s it. IMCapture for Skype is installed. You may delete the IMCapture for Skype.dmg file from your desktop or download location.

 

Registration

 

1. Launch IMCapture for Skype and click the Registration button in the main window.
2. Enter your registration name and key. For that purpose copy regname and regcode from email without blanks before and after reginfo.
3. Paste copied info and press Register button. To end this operation, hit OK button.
    

 Initializing IMCapture for Skype



 

After installation you must run IMCapture for Skype before attempting to record Skype audio calls. Initializing IMCapture for Skype first allows you to make the correct selections for recording and will alert Skype to approve the IMCapture for Skype plug-in.

To initialize IMCapture for Skype:

1.Locate the IMCapture for Skype.app file in the Applications folder and double click to run the program.

2.The first time Skype is started after running IMCapture for Skype, the Skype API Security window opens.

3.Select one of the options offered, approving or disabling the application’s access to Skype. Click OK to confirm your choice.

In case Skype API Security window didn’t open, you should open Skype, click Account from the Skype menubar above and then choose Manage API clients. In the window appeared please select To add IMCapture for Skype.
 

 

4.After initializing IMCapture for Skype, either program may be started anytime, in any order.
 

 



Recording Skype calls by default:

 

If you want to record audio and video Skype conversations by default and indicate an Output folder automatically:

1.Click Preferences form the IMCapture for Skype menubar above.

2.In the Preferences window check Enable Autorecord checkbox.

3.Select an Output folder using the roll-button. Click OK to confirm your choice.




Now whenever an audio or video Skype session starts, IMCapture for Skype will save this call automatically.


 

To start and stop recording an audio call:

 

Once IMCapture for Skype has been initialized on your Mac, you may record an audio call. To enable Skype voice recording, simply launch IMCapture for Skype and in the main window appeared complete the following steps:

1.Before recording an audio Skype session, please select an output folder location. Click the radio button to the right of the Output Folder field and select a location for the saved calls. Click Ok.

2.As soon as the Skype call has started, the Record Audio button is highlighted, indicating that IMCapture for Skype recognizes that a Skype audio session is occurring and is ready to record it. Select the Record Audio button to start recording process at anytime during the conversation.

The record time will be displayed below.

3.While IMCapture for Skype is recording, the Stop button will be highlighted. Select Stop any time during the conversation to stop recording process. If you have checked Enable Autorecord checkbox in Preferences, the recording process stops automatically.

4.IMCapture for Skype creates a new IMCapture for Skype file each time the Stop button is selected.
 

To Start and Stop recording a video call:

 

After IMCapture for Skype has been initialized on your Mac, you may record a video call. IMCapture for Skype enables you to launch and stop recording process anytime during the Skype video session. To record a video call, follow several steps:

1. Before you record Skype video conversation, please select an output folder location. Click the radio button to the right of the Output Folder field and select a location for the saved calls. Click Ok.

2. As soon as the Skype call has started, the Record Video button is highlighted, indicating that IMCapture for Skype recognizes that a Skype video session is occurring and is ready to record it. Select the Record Video button at anytime during the conversation to start recording the video call.

3.While IMCapture for Skype is recording, the Stop button will be highlighted. You will be able to identify this process on the icon Recording. The record time will be displayed below. Select Stop any time during your conversation to stop the recording process.

If you have checked Enable Autorecord checkbox in Preferences, the recording process stops automatically.

4.IMCapture for Skype creates a new IMCapture for Skype file each time the Stop button is selected.
 

Converting audio and video calls

 

IMCapture for Skype empowers you not only to record Skype calls, but also to convert those files into one of the popular audio and video file formats. Supplied with the Settings window, our Skype recorder allows you to modify the quality of both audio and video files.

To convert audio or video call:

1. After your audio or video call has been recorded, IMCapture for Skype Converter window will appear.

2.The IMCapture for Skype Converter window displays two panels: one for you and one for the other caller, each supplied with Video and Audio check boxes. Select the components you would like to convert. Note: two video boxes mustn’t be checked at the same time.

3.Click the Settings button to modify file formats and codec parameters, thus adjusting the image quality manually at will. The left side of the Codec Parameters window allows you to modify video settings and the right side allows you to modify audio settings. Using the drop down lists make your selections and click Ok.




4. Click Convert button and in the appeared window, name the file and indicate the folder where to save the converted file in.



5. As soon as the file has been converted, IMCapture for Skype offers you to view the result file. Click Yes to open VideoPlayer and play the converted file again.
